As one of the world's most pivotal technology exhibitions, COMPUTEX and InnoVEX completed Taipei City's first "1,000-Drone Flight Show" on the evening of June 2nd, lighting up the night sky around Taipei City Hall and TAIPEI 101. Using the city itself as a stage, the event showcased Taiwan's tech industry and its capacity to integrate with the global innovation ecosystem.
The show was organized by the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), ran for a total of 12 minutes, and brought together an international creative team, urban public spaces, the tech industry, and government agencies — symbolizing that COMPUTEX and InnoVEX have evolved beyond traditional exhibition-hall events into a "city-scale global technology exchange hub."
One of the highlights of the performance was the first-ever thousand-drone flight completed in central Taipei. Achieving a high-caliber show under the constraints of a dense urban environment, restricted airspace, and complex international technical coordination signals that Taiwan's large-scale tech event capabilities have officially joined the ranks of world-class cities.
The entire performance centered on the theme "Technology Connects the World," with aerial formations depicting:
- The Origin of Technology
- Taiwan
- Semiconductor Innovation
- Robotics
- Smart Mobility
- International Collaboration
- The 40th Anniversary of the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei
- TAIPEI 101
- BRAVO TAIPEI
- Taipei City Government
- IC Taiwan Grand Challenge
- COMPUTEX x InnoVEX
COMPUTEX x InnoVEX blended tech art with the city's landscape to present Taiwan's role in AI, semiconductors, smart technology, and international collaboration to the world through a visually compelling language capable of global reach.
Noki Asia Limited, an international team specializing in immersive experiences and large-scale urban performance technology, was invited to serve as the drone show's production designer and international technical consultant in cooperate with Taiwan’s Team Taiwan Swarm Innovation Inc. Noki Asia has a long track record of involvement in major Asian theme parks, international brand activations, and city-scale productions, executing over 300 large-scale international events annually, with extensive experience in cross-border production and systems integration.
Beyond the drone show, Noki Asia also integrated diverse technologies including NOKI USV, Levitation Technology, and Robotics — spanning aerial and aquatic unmanned vehicles, intelligent robotics systems, immersive experience technology, and smart venue applications — continuously advancing the international development of Entertainment Technology and urban tech showcases.
TCA noted that the significance of this event was not merely a performance, but its representation of cross-domain integration across "international collaboration × urban governance × the tech industry." The event brought together the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei (CTOT), the Taipei City Government, TAIPEI 101, and IC Taiwan Grand Challenge, demonstrating Taiwan's strengths in international tech collaboration and urban innovation.
Among the partners, the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei (CTOT) has been actively promoting bilateral Taiwan-Canada collaboration in AI, quantum technology, and Deep Tech in recent years, while IC Taiwan Grand Challenge continues to attract global startups and technical teams to Taiwan for validation and market entry, steadily establishing Taiwan's position as a global hub for semiconductor and AI innovation.
TCA emphasized that COMPUTEX and InnoVEX are more than just exhibitions — they create a pivotal hub for global technology, capital, government, and innovation. Through this city-scale performance, the drone show further propels Taipei onto the international stage as a leading tech city. It highlights both Taiwan’s capacity for global innovation and its ability to carry out large-scale technology showcases.
As COMPUTEX and InnoVEX continue through June 2–5, tech companies, startups, investors, and government representatives from around the world are gathering in Taipei to exchange ideas and forge partnerships. TCA hopes that through this city-scale tech showcase, the international community will see Taiwan not only as a critical node in the global tech supply chain, but also pivotal hub for innovation.
