The innovation hub of Asia, InnoVEX 2023 was held from May 30 to June 2 in Taipei; attracting over 20,000 visitors both locally and internationally. Among the main events was the InnoVEX Forum that invited influential speakers from industry leading companies and rising startup teams.
One of the speakers in the InnoVEX 2023 Next Generation EV Innovations Summit Forum is Rahil Ansari, the CEO and Chairman of Volkswagen Group Taiwan. As one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, the Volkswagen Group is pushing ahead with its ambitious electric vehicle (EV) strategy and has developed their concept for the future of mobility.
In his speech, Mr. Ansari shared a few key points on mobility and the automotive industry. The world of mobility is diversifying and the current automotive market is undergoing a lot of developments that are not happening in a completely structured manner. Changes are also happening on the user side as they are also considering sustainability in addition to the convenience, comfort, and performance of their vehicles.
Digitalization and apps are very likely to play more crucial roles in transportation. Future mobility will have multiple possible development routes, including the most conventional ones such as EV, autonomous driving, etc. Regardless of which route(s) will be the most prevalent, AI is expected to play a stronger role in mobility.
Safety will also continue to become more important; especially because global population density is predicted to grow rapidly with 66% of the world’s population expected to live in only 41 megacities by 2050. However, physical safety is not the only concern; digital safety and security will also become challenges to address.
