Lin Chih-Hung graduated from the Medical School at National Yang-Ming University and later pursued his doctoral degree in Biology at Yale University, graduating in 1994. Lin specializes in microscopy, genomics, cell biology, biomedical optoelectronics, public health, and policy-related research. He has received numerous accolades, including the John R. Nicholas Outstanding Paper Award from Yale University (1995), the Outstanding Research Award from the National Science Council of the Executive Yuan (2004), the Excellent Teacher Award from the Medical School at National Yang-Ming University (2007), the Outstanding Contributions to Science and Technology Award from the Executive Yuan (2009), the 10th Outstanding Alumni Award from National Yang-Ming University (2013), and the Presidential Achievement Medal from the Executive Yuan (2018). In 2021, Lin Chih-Hung was elected as the inaugural president of the newly established National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University due to his outstanding academic and administrative experience. He is dedicated to enhancing the academic standards and international reputation of the university, promoting its diversified development, and providing students with quality education and training opportunities, thus making significant contributions to Taiwan's higher education sector.
