Agricultural and Fisheries Ecology - Fostering Circular Economy
To harness Keelung's abundant natural resources, the City Government has launched the "Embrace Keelung" initiative, focusing on local agriculture and fisheries. By integrating elements of culture, design, and cuisine, we create a holistic ecosystem for agricultural and fishery products. Recent endeavors include promoting local specialties like Keelung yams, bamboo shoots, Keelung waxberries, forest honey, and pomelo wine. Our fisheries sector boasts products such as Keelung squid, cuttlefish, white bait rolls, prawns, spear shrimps, and whitebait. Additionally, we engage with local restaurants and youth to develop community-specific cultural products and promote agricultural and fisheries education. Through these efforts, we lay the groundwork for a sustainable circular economy that benefits future generations.
