The innovation hub of Asia, InnoVEX 2023 was held from May 30 to June 2 in Taipei; attracting over 20,000 visitors both locally and internationally. Among the main events was the InnoVEX Forum that invited influential speakers from industry leading companies and rising startup teams.
One of the speakers in the InnoVEX 2023 Next Generation EV Innovations Summit Forum is Dr. Volker Kaese, the CTO of Indigo Technologies. An automotive OEM producing ultra-efficient electric vehicles with its patented, road-sensing smart-wheels; Indigo Technologies’ EVs provide unmatched rider ergonomics and unit economics previously not achievable with conventional propulsion suspension technologies.
In his speech, Dr. Kaese shared that while last mile delivery and ride hailing are growing in both popularity and market value, the market currently does not offer dedicated purpose-built vehicles for these purposes. As countries around the world also push for adoption of EVs, a dedicated EV for the 2 segments will be necessary in the near future.
The rapid growth of EV also emphasizes the architecture difference between ICE and EVs. With a different propulsion system, EVs will are generally lighter than ICE vehicles. In addition, the different component used will mean car manufacturers now will have more space in their cars to provide more features for safety, comfort, or more electronics in the same car volume.
This major change also creates opportunities not only for manufacturers, but also for users who need dedicated purpose-built vehicles; especially for ride hailing and last mile delivery. Dedicated and improved features including providing ride stability, accessibility features, and more; all while providing the pre-existing capabilities of regular ICT vehicles.
