CES is currently buzzing with excitement as this year's event showcases groundbreaking innovations in AI, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and gaming. The evolution of chips is profoundly shaping the future of technology. With Taiwan being known as 'Silicon Island,' the Taiwanese government is urging the leveraging of its semiconductor expertise to drive further innovation.
The IC Taiwan Grand Challenge is a program organized by the Taiwanese government to attract global talents and investments in the fields of IC design innovations, chip-based innovative applications, and system integration. This competition offers a platform for participants to showcase their innovations to leverage Taiwan's semiconductor expertise by integrating chips with critical innovations.
The winning team of the IC Taiwan Grand Challenge will receive valuable resources, including connections to Taiwan’s semiconductor industry chain, access to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, IP, IC design support, and platform assistance from Taiwan’s thriving IC startup ecosystem. The winners will also receive a USD 30,000 cash prize to help them kick off their efforts in collaborating with Taiwan's local industries. Winners will also have a chance to join a mentorship program organized by Taiwan's leading semiconductor companies, such as TSMC, MediaTek, and UMC.
Special attention is given to applicants in AI Core Technologies and Chips, Smart Mobility, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Medtech, and Sustainability. We welcome startups under 8 years old, research institutes, legal entities, and individuals to take part in the competition.
