IC Taiwan Grand Challenge Batch 2 Winner Introduction – JMEM Tek

 2025-04-25 By: InnoVEX Team

JMEM Tek is a Singapore-based Semiconductor Device, IP & Chip Design company that provides a total hardware security solution for users of their uncrackable IP and technology to combat illegal hacking at the post-quantum level. With their R&D base in Taiwan, JMEM Tek launched the world’s first PUF-based Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) chip, focusing on advanced computing & electronics, aerospace, digital health & medical devices, medical biotech & pharmaceuticals, and other applications such as fintech and automotive.

Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Vital for Future Security

Recent developments in quantum computing have the potential to break widely used cryptographic algorithms. This will render most conventional security measures, such as passwords, 2-factor authentication, etc., irrelevant. According to Synopsys, this threat is further amplified by threat actors’ “harvest now, decrypt later” strategy, where they intercept and store encrypted data as soon as possible to decrypt the data when quantum computers are powerful enough. This makes the proper countermeasure, Post Quantum Cryptography (PQC), necessary to mitigate cyberattacks. PQC will focus on developing quantum attack-resistant algorithms based on mathematical problems, which include lattice-based cryptography, hash-based cryptography, code-based cryptography, and multivariate polynomial cryptography.

Introducing IC Taiwan Grand Challenge

To boost Taiwan's position as a global semiconductor powerhouse, the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) organizes the IC Taiwan Grand Challenge. Focusing on teams actively leveraging innovative IC design to develop advanced application solutions or enhanced technologies, the ICTGC puts special attention on teams in the fields of AI Core Technologies and Chips, Smart Mobility, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Medtech, and Sustainability. JMEM Tek was selected as one of the winners of the AI Core Technologies and Chips technology with their PUF-based Post-Quantum Cryptography chip.

JMEM Tek Offers the World's First Quantum-Safe Secure Identity Chip

Founded in 2023, JMEM Tek’s PUF-based Post-Quantum Cryptography chip offers quantum-safe capabilities by integrating invisible key technology with a next-generation encryption algorithm, which offers the highest level of protection, high reliability, and high compatibility. Their PQC IP computation chip offers 3x speed than existing solutions, and their RISC-V MCU PQC chip is 100x faster than existing CPU solutions.

JMEM Tek's solutions are versatile and universal, being applicable in aerospace/ defense, smart healthcare, AIoT, Fintech, automotive, and more. Their PUF-based Post-Quantum Cryptography chip offers quantum-safe capabilities by integrating invisible key technology with a next-generation encryption algorithm. It acts as a gateway for data streaming and can be integrated into any system-on-chip, including ASIC and FPGA, securing cloud-to-edge data transmission through hardware-based Unique Identity (UID), end-to-end binding, and quantum-safe encryption, preventing unauthorized access.

With a unique design and distinctive framework, JMEM Tek's hardware security foundation has raised USD 6 million in 2 years from various investors. JMEM Tek's innovative technology has gained significant attention, earning invitations from Taiwan’s core technology innovation institutions, such as National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) and Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, NSTC, to present leading international security solutions at major forums across Europe, the U.S., and Asia.
