 2026-06-02 By: InnoVEX Team

InnoVEX, Asia's largest and most influential startup exhibition, positioned as the "Innovation Hub of Asia" and held concurrently with COMPUTEX TAIPEI, officially opened on June 2 at Hall 4F, Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2. TCA (Taipei Computer Association), one of the organizers, announced that InnoVEX 2026 has once again reached a record scale, with nearly 500 startups and tech companies from 23 countries and regions participating. Featured technologies span popular "NEXT AI" applications including AI Innovation, Medtech, Semiconductor Applications, Next-Gen Entertainment, Robotics, Smart Mobility, and Next-Gen Communications. The event offers a comprehensive look at the latest global industry trends and developments.

International Giants Doubling Down on Taiwan; Taiwan's Innovation and Startup Ecosystem Gains Global Recognition

Premier of the Executive Yuan Cho Jung-tai, in his opening remarks, noted that amid global tech waves and shifting international dynamics, the government continues to serve as the strongest backbone for industry, enabling Taiwan to deliver outstanding results in global economic competition. In 2025, Taiwan's economic growth rate reached 8.68% and GDP per capita hit USD 39,000 — both record highs. In Q1 2026, growth reached 13.69%, the highest single-quarter figure in nearly 39 years. Recently, tech leaders including NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su, and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan have visited Taiwan and announced multiple investment and collaboration plans, demonstrating strong international confidence in Taiwan's tech sector and investment environment. The government is also deepening partnerships with Micron, ASML, and other global firms to establish key bases for advanced memory, semiconductor equipment, and high-end manufacturing, further cementing Taiwan's critical role in the global AI and high-tech supply chain.

Premier Cho Jung-tai also emphasized that beyond large-scale industry upgrades and international cooperation, the government places great importance on the development of SMEs and startups. In recent years, the government has continuously promoted the "MSME Diversified Revitalization and Development Program," assisting over 300,000 businesses with more than NT$257 billion in loan resources. It will also launch an 8-year, NT$100 billion "SME Traditional Industry Accelerated Revitalization Program," and has asked the Ministry of Economic Affairs to develop an "SME Upgrade and Transformation Development Act" to help over 1.7 million SMEs continue to grow and transform.

On the entrepreneurial front, Taiwan ranked second globally in the latest Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), with over 10,000 startups actively engaged in high-growth fields such as AI, smart healthcare, net-zero sustainability, and deep tech. The government has actively led teams to compete in events such as SelectUSA Tech in the US, successfully facilitating investment of NT$2.53 billion into 20 startups over the past five years. The hope is that the InnoVEX platform will deepen international cross-sector collaboration and help build a trustworthy, resilient, and sustainable global innovation ecosystem.

InnoVEX Connects Startups with Enterprises, Capital Markets, and Global Markets — Extending Innovation Energy to the City

TCA Chairman Jason Chen emphasized in his remarks that startups are the most vibrant indicator of national competitiveness. This year's event highlights three key directions: (1) Connecting startups with large enterprises — including active participation from the NVIDIA Inception Program and domestic and international industry partners to deepen collaboration between corporations and startups. (2) Connecting startups with capital markets — through multiple investor matching sessions and international VC exchanges to help outstanding teams reach larger markets. (3) Connecting startups with global markets — teams and accelerators from the US, Japan, France, South Korea, Singapore, and more have gathered in Taipei to help Taiwanese startups integrate into the world.

Notably, this year marks the first time four “national-level competitions” have officially joined InnoVEX: The National Science and Technology Council's IC Taiwan Grand Challenge (ICTGC), the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Best AI Awards, the National Development Council's “Startup Bloom — Entrepreneurship Alliance Competition”, and the Presidential Hackathon. Over 30 award-winning teams have been invited to showcase at InnoVEX. Additionally, TCA is extending innovation energy into the city — tonight, a drone show featuring 1,000 drones will light up the sky above Taipei 101, and tomorrow evening, the InnoVEX Night Party will bring together global startups, investors, and industry partners to keep the momentum going and let innovation connections happen in Taipei.

TAITRA Chairman James C. F. Huang also noted in his remarks that the government provides substantive institutional support to startups through SBIR (the Small Business Innovation Research program under the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration), the National Talent Competitiveness Enhancement Program, and Startup Island TAIWAN's presence in Silicon Valley and Tokyo. He expressed hope that InnoVEX startups will collaborate with COMPUTEX exhibitors under the spirit of "AI TOGETHER," using cross-sector exchange over the next four days to collectively shape the future.
