Albert Liu, Kneron's CEO, received scholarships from Raytheon and the University of California after graduating from Taiwan National Cheng Kung University. He earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering at UCLA through the UC Berkeley/UCLA/UCSD research programs. Before founding Kneron in San Diego (2015), Albert held key roles at Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics R&D Center, MStar, and Wireless Information.
Albert lectures on computer vision and AI at the University of California, serves as a technical reviewer for top academic journals, and holds over 30 international patents in AI, computer vision, and image processing. He has published 70+ papers in major journals and authored "Deep Learning – Hardware Design" (2020) and "Introduction to Artificial Intelligence 4th Industrial Revolution" (2021). Albert received awards, including the 2021 IEEE TCAS Darlington Award, 2022 Pan Wen-Yuan Foundation IoT Innovation Award, and 2022 IEEE CTSoc Corporate Innovation Leadership Award.
