Dr. David Antoniuk

Dr. David Antoniuk holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from the University of Alberta and brings a rich background of business and product development, technology commercialization, and building strategic business relationships. In 2016, he co-founded Applied Quantum Materials Inc., which has become a global leader in silicon quantum dots and nanomaterials. His vision and leadership have been instrumental in guiding AQM's growth and diversification. In 2022, he co-founded a new spin-off company, Dark Matter Materials Inc., which has developed an earth abundant, environmentally friendly nanocatalyst capable of producing hydrogen on-demand from any type of water at room temperature.
Previously, he was Director of Business Development for TRLabs, Canada’s largest IT consortium. In 1999, as Director, Nanotechnology for the Government of Alberta, he formulated the strategy for the creation of Canada’s National Institute for Nanotechnology with the National Research Council and the University of Alberta. In the past, he was active in improving access to capital in Alberta and was the co-founder of the Banff Venture Forum.
