Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the global leaders in cloud computing, offering a comprehensive suite of cloud technologies since 2006. AWS supports businesses, non-profits, and governments worldwide, enabling them to innovate, scale, and transform industries and communities. With a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), AWS provides tools like SageMaker for building and deploying AI models, democratizing AI for developers and organizations. AWS also invests heavily in AI education, offering scholarships, free training programs, and initiatives like AWS re/Start to upskill millions globally.

Chris So serves as General Manager of Partner and Startup Programs for AWS Greater China Region. Since joining AWS Hong Kong in 2013, he has played a pivotal role in the company’s regional expansion, notably contributing to the launch of AWS Asia Pacific (Hong Kong) Region in 2019.

In his current position, Chris leads AWS’s partner network and startup development initiatives. His responsibilities encompass strategic planning, recruitment, enablement, and growth management for AWS consulting, technology, and channel partners. He focuses on fostering collaborative partnerships to enhance AWS’s market presence and go-to-market capabilities. He also strategizes and empowers GCR startups to innovate and scale their businesses across the world.

Bringing over 20 years of experience in digital, cloud, and AI technologies, Chris previously held several regional management positions in the IT industry before joining AWS. He holds an Executive MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
