GJ Lee currently serves as the Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA) under Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs. With more than 20 years of experience in public sector administration and industrial policy, Director-General Lee has been a driving force in advancing Taiwan's entrepreneurial ecosystem and fostering innovation-driven economic growth.
Under his leadership, SMESA has launched a series of forward-looking initiatives aimed at empowering startups, strengthening the SME financing environment, and catalyzing international collaboration between Taiwanese enterprises and their global counterparts. Director-General Lee has been instrumental in positioning Taiwan as a premier destination for deep-tech entrepreneurship and cross-border innovation partnerships.
He holds a graduate degree in Public Administration and has represented Taiwan in numerous bilateral and multilateral trade and investment forums. Director-General Lee is committed to building bridges between Taiwan's vibrant startup community and international partners, facilitating market access, talent exchange, and technology co-development.
