Philippe LACHAPELLE

Wallonia Export-Investment Agency(AWEX)
Since July 2004, Philippe LACHAPELLE is Director of Technical Partnerships and Networks of Innovation at the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX). He has successfully initiated partnerships and innovation programs with AWEX’ partners in Texas (USA), Israel, Canada and India. Thanks to his quality contributions to the economic development of collaborations between Wallonia and the State of Texas, he was made guest of honor of the State of Texas by former Governor Rick Perry in 2014.
Philippe is in charge at AWEX of expanding the global network of innovation of the Wallonia Region in order to attract a new flux of High-Tech Companies in Wallonia, and to support Walloon innovative companies grow abroad through the AWEX network.
From 1995 to 2003, he was Economic Counsellor at the Regional Parliament of Wallonia, before working for the Minister of Economy of the Regional Walloon Government..
Philippe is a former Research Fellow at the Business School of George Mason University in Virginia, and holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources management and a specialized degree in European Affairs from the Catholic University of Louvain, a Master in International Trade from the George Mason University, and a PhD in European Law from the University of Lyon in France.
