Registration for the InnoVEX 2023 Pitch Contest will continue until May 5 and as one of the mainstays of InnoVEX, the Pitch Contest will offer a range of prizes ranging from cash prizes to professional resources and marketing efforts. New prizes have been added into the prize lineup, including: the Plug and Play Award, the Okinawa Innovation Award, and the Taiwania Capital Innovation Award; bringing the total value of the prizes up to USD 120,000.
This year, Plug and Play Taiwan will co-sponsor of the InnoVEX 2023 Pitch Contest Grand Prize. The Grand Prize has now been expanded to include participation for the Plug and Play Taiwan’s Globalization Program valued at USD 30,000 in addition to the original rewards of free booth for InnoVEX 2024, marketing & promotion efforts from the organizer, as well as matchmaking opportunities.
The newly added Plug and Play Award is also sponsored by Plug and Play Taiwan. In total, the Plug and Play Award will be given to 3 winners and the winners will be invited to speak in the Plug and Play Summit Pitch Session which is annually held in Tokyo, Singapore, and Silicon Valley. The winners are free to choose which city they will attend in.
The Okinawa Innovation Award is sponsored by the IT Innovation and Strategy Center Okinawa (ISCO) and the winner will receive cash award and professional & exhibiting resources in the ResorTech EXPO 2023 with a total value of JPY 1,990,000. The resources provided by the sponsor include a cash prize of JPY 100,000, exhibiting subsidy, cash travel subsidy worth JPY 200,000, standard booths, promotions on the ResorTech EXPO 2023 official website and the venue, speaking opportunities at onsite seminar, and participation in a party.
The Taiwania Capital Innovation Award consists of a USD 10,000 cash prize which is sponsored by Taiwania Capital. Priority for the award will be given to IoT and Biotechnology-related startups. Startups focusing on the Central and Eastern European markets are encouraged to emphasize this point in their Pitch Decks.
Other awards from the original lineup includes the Future Star Award which is aimed for early-stage startups, the Startup Terrace Award (ST Award) which is aimed for international startups, the Qualcomm Innovation Award with focus on startups in 5G, AI & IoT; and the KPMG Award which is dedicated for Taiwanese startups. The judges lineup will include 14 global VCs and CVCs including Ravi Belani, a Co-Founder of Alchemist Accelerator, Tom Vanhoutten, the founder and managing partner of imec.xpand, Alyssa Chen, Principal leading the Accelerator Arm of Appworks, Gudén García Pablos, a Portfolio Manager/ Industrial Investments in Criteria Caixa, and more.
The Pitch Contest is only open for InnoVEX 2023 exhibitors founded after January 1, 2015 and will focus on 16 main categories including AI & Big Data, ESG & Green Tech, Mobility & Vehicle Technology, and more. Exhibitors interested in participating in the InnoVEX Pitch Contest must register before May 5.
