As co-organizers of Asia's benchmark startup exhibition, Taipei Computer Association (TCA) stated that, since starting the InnoVEX Pitch Contest in 2016, many winners of the competition have not only received venture capital in the angel round or A round of investments, but have also experienced continued growth in their business development. They have found that participating in the InnoVEX Pitch Contest was truly beneficial. As an example, MoBagel, the first winner of the 2016 InnoVEX Pitch Contest, started to provide a platform analyzing predictions on the Internet of things (IoT), got into deep machine learning algorithms, developed an optimum algorithm, and provided much-needed services like real time monitoring and predictions of product life cycles, sales, and satisfaction rates under the IoT trend. The company attracted the attention of the judges' panel, made up of venture capitalists, and snagged the first 2016 InnoVEX Pitch Contest prize of USD$30,000.
After 5 years of growth, MoBagel has become a tech company specializing in AI/AutoML and Data Science information technology. As of 2021, the company has 70+ employees with offices in Silicon Valley, Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, and Japan. In the Gartner Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2020, MoBagel was selected as a key vendor for global AI/ML platforms. With "Think with AI" as their business vision, MoBagel has helped businesses extract value from big data to stand at the core of their policy decisions. They have already assisted over 100 clients, including internationally renowned corporations such as ChungHwa Telecom, Wei Chuan Foods Corp., Swire Coca-Cola, and New Balance.
TCA says the 2021 InnoVEX Pitch Contest will be held entirely online. The competition is currently in its preliminary round and on July 19 will announce the teams making it into the finals.
